All auction items are imaged and described as good as possible. Please feel free to email auctions@britishonly.com with any questions you may have. We try our best to answer all emails as quickly as possible. In dealing with vintage parts it is nearly impossible to know the history of an item. Many items have been collected over the past 30+ years from long forgotten sources. If purchased, all mechanical items like motors and transmissions should be disassembled and inspected. Please review all images of the item. The images are considered a continuation of the item description and most times can provide better information than any written description.

We generally ship items within 24-48 hours of receiving payment, however, we do not ship on Saturday or Sunday. Most items ship the next business day after the payment is received and cleared. This means if you pay on Friday, your item will ship on Monday. If you pay on Friday and Monday is a holiday, we will ship on Tuesday. If you pay on Sunday, your order is at the end of the line for weekend orders and it might be Tuesday (Or Wednesday if Monday is a holiday) before we get it out the door. We are set up to AUTOMATICALLY send an email to the buyer to confirm shipping. Be sure we are on your safe list or your email provider may block this automatic email. This is especially important if you have AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo, MSN, or if you are contacting us through your work email.

Shipping Terms & Conditions

• Buyer pays for all shipping & handling.
• Buyer pays for all taxes and or duties.
• Please do not ask us to invoice for an amount lower than the selling price to avoid duties. We will not falsify export documents.
• International shipping transit time can be unpredictable. We have no control over how long it will take.
• Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
• The shipping and handling price is not negotiable.
• All items will be insured when they are shipped. Insurance is not an option.
• Packages shipped within the continental United States can be shipped via UPS Ground Service or USPS Priority Mail.
• Packages shipped to Alaska and Hawaii can be shipped via USPS or UPS 2 Day Air Service.
• Packages shipped internationally can be shipped via USPS Express Mail, USPS Priority Mail, or USPS Flat Rate Priority Box.
• We ship to APO and FPO address via USPS Priority Mail.
• We ship to PO boxes via USPS Priority Mail.
• Packages shipped to Alaska and Hawaii will have an additional shipping charges if shipped via UPS 2nd Day Air.

All items that CAN NOT be shipped via UPS or USPS due to size or weight restrictions will be shipped "FOB Garden City - Freight Collect". We will clearly post the handling charges (pallet or crating cost) and the estimated weight and size of the item within the auction description. The cost of shipping motors, frames, and or complete motorcycles can be expensive. If you have never quoted shipping for items of this nature please contact us at auctions@britishonly.com before bidding.

There is a $125 (USD) crating fee for all motors.
There is a $225 (USD) crating fee on all frames that can not be shipped via UPS or USPS.

"Freight Collect" is a term used in the freight moving business that means that the freight will be paid by the person receiving the freight.

When shipping international FOB is defined as "Free On Board".
When shipping within the continental United States FOB is defined as "Freight On Board".

In either case the term FOB is used with an identified physical location to determine:
1) The responsibility and basis for payment of freight charges.
2) The point at which title for the shipment passes from seller to buyer.

When items are shipped international, via freight, the definition of the term "FOB Garden City" means the buyer pays for transportation of the goods from Garden City Michigan to the port of shipment, handling charges, loading costs, ground / ocean / air freight transport, insurance, unloading, taxes, duties, port charges, and transportation from the arrival port to the final destination.

When items are shipped within the continental USA, via freight, the definition of the term "FOB Garden City" means the buyer pays for transportation of the goods from Garden City Michigan, insurance, unloading, taxes, dock charges, and transportation from the arrival dock to the final destination.

As outlined the term "FOB Garden City - Freight Collect" has the following meaning:
The buyer pays all freight costs.
The buyer bears all freight charges.
The buyer assumes title and control of the goods the moment the carrier signs the bill of lading.
The buyer assumes risk of transportation and is entitled to route the shipment.
The buyer is responsible for filing claims for loss or damage.

If preferred you have the option of arranging the pick-up of your purchase. If you opt to arrange pick-up, British Only will require the courier to sign a pick-up contract which will outline the condition of the item(s) at the time of pick-up. British Only will not insure pieces which are delivered via a customer arranged pick-up. If the item(s) is damaged during a customer arranged pick-up and delivery, British Only will be held harmless and bares no responsibility for any damages or financial losses that may occur.

Please do not bid if you don't agree with our shipping and handling terms.

We are not responsible in the event the shipping company makes an error, loses a package or a package is damaged. Any shortages or discrepancies must be reported within 10 days of invoice date. In the rare case that you receive a damaged package, you MUST advise the delivery service and/or customs agent of the damage at the time of delivery. Failing to note that the package is damaged at the point of delivery may void any future insurance claim that you may need to file.
