This book contains more than thirty bikes, which means there are far too many to thank each owner or builder by name. There are, just the same, a few individuals who need to be singled out. Steve Laugtug, for example, must be thanked for allowing me access to his elaborate photo studio. And my lovely and talented wife Mary must be thanked for rinsing all that film in the Motel room sink after the Pepsi can exploded in the cooler. Yes, the same cooler that contained all the film I shot in Daytona. To all the rest, I have to offer a collective thanks-for showing up on time, for moving the bikes a million times, for filling out the technical sheets, and mostly for being patient. 8.5” X 9”

The photographs in this book come from a variety of sources. Many are my own, though a significant number come from Arlen's archives. Most of the more recent studio-style shots credited to Arlen's archives were actually done by Carmina Besson, in-house photographer and the woman responsible for the very good looking Arlen Ness catalog. Some of the older archival film was not marked in any way and thus it's impossible to credit the photographer, though I'm indebted to each and every one. 8” X 10½”
