Items that are listed for auction or sale on gearheadauction.com can be in the following formats:

Auction - In the Auction format buyers bid against each other in specified bid increments. The item is won by the highest bidder when the auction closes. An Item listed in the Auction format can have a *Reserve and also a Buy Now price. When listed in the Auction format the quantity of goods is equal to one.

Fixed Price - A Fixed Price listing does not allow bidding. The seller specifies the only acceptable price for the item(s).

Classified Ad - Unlike traditional text only classified ads, our Classified Ads allow image uploads and dynamic communication between the Seller and all potential Buyers. When listing a Classified Ad, the seller sets the asking price, the shipping cost, and any information about the item. When an arrangement has been reached between the buyer and the seller, the seller manually ends the Classified Ad.

*Reserve - The Reserve price is the absolute minimum dollar amount the Seller will accept for an item. Buyers are notified after placing their bid if it is below the Reserve price.If a Buyer's maximum bid is greater than the Reserve price, the Reserve is automatically met and that bidder becomes the high bidder.


Searching for items that are listed for auction or sale.

Basic Search - The Basic Search is accessible from both the Home Page (left column) and Browse Page (left column).

• Enter Keywords, Item #, or Username of the Seller

• Select appropriate search parameter

Advanced Search - Accessible by clicking the "Advanced Search" button on the Home Page (left column) or by clicking on navigation bar "Search" icon below the GHA logo.

The following options are available for the Advanced Search:

• Category - Select a specific item category or "All Categories."

• Search - Enter Keywords or Item #. To search Title & Descriptions check the appropriate box.
